Lite On USB wireless network adapter

Hi there, since build 7068 I've been facing this problem with this network adapter, will try to explain as good as I can.

Problem as following: Everytime I start the pc after one or two minutes I lost my internet connection and when I try to restart the pc it hangs when shutting pc is showed, forcing me to shut it down only whit the power button.

I have tried to install the vista x64 driver that I have for this network adapter but cannot installed since is onlyfor vista x64, neither in compatibilty mode. After a few research managed to installed it via safe mode. and by now is working good but device manager shows a warning icon and a Cannot start device code 10.

any knows is theres a win 7 update driver?? can I just keep ignoring the code 10 till this bug is fixed??

As said before and looking at some similar topics here, problem is caused by bad drivers, which I assume is this usb wireless card.

This is a fresh intall of win 7 build 7127, I have been using it for about 30 minutes so no extra apps are installed.

Can't find much info about your device...

I saw some posts referring to it, apparently it uses Ralink chipset.

This may be a long shot but try these the following drivers in compatibility mode:


USB(RT257x/RT2671/RT520x)

Ralink Technology: Windows

netRAT, thanks for answering, I forgot to say, yes its a Ralink chipset could not find any other proper driver for this, so, im gonna try yours now if problems persists.

dunno what is going on, but, today automatically windows update the driver to the same version is installed on installation process, it's have been about 30 minutes now with no crash...

Ok, i've installed the driver you suggest using compatibility mode, after a few hours of using it, cpu is going all the way yo 90-98%..

During installation did you choose to allow windows to manage wireless networks or the Ralink application?


Try both...


If neither work you may have to wait for Ralink to release proper Win7 drivers...

i've tried both already, lucky me I have another USB adapter so Im gonna try with that til fix that problem
