Solved Little bug with explorer favourites

Hey I can't seem to drag and drop shortcuts into my favourites to make things a little easier.. like instead of going to c drive then users then Daniel I can just drag that into favourites but it doesn't seem to work, I may have deleted some of the favourites by accident and caused this bug but there must be a way to restore the explorer... thingy's.

Also as you can see the desktop ones are gone too too making some small downloads a pesky business.

Did you delete the "desktop.ini" file that is located in "C:\Users\[username]\Links" that folder is where your shortcuts would go, btw.

There is no links folder although I do recall there being one.

I have been terribly busy but it hasn't so I am going to restart my computer to see if the new registry keys kick in. Also when I downloaded the reg file from option one it was only a .download file and not a .reg file.

The .download as the file extension is due to whatever security program (ex: IE8 download manager/toolbar add-on, antivirus, internet security, etc....) you have installed.

Right click on the downloaded file, click on Rename, and rename the .download part of the file to .reg instead. Afterwards, see if you are able to merge the .reg file now.

Ok I merged the reg but it didn't seem to work..
