Live Mail Accounts - how to integrate?

I have two Windows Live Mail Accounts hence I have both shown separately on left hand folder pane with Inbox, draft, sent, junk and deleted below each.
How do I arrange to keep both accounts but integrate them and so have only one inbox, drafts, sent items etc showing in folder pane.
Thanks

Hello PJ, welcome to the Seven Forums.

It's only possible if the accounts are POP accounts. IMAP accounts, like Hotmail etc. always create their own folders.

Kari

EDIT, 3 days later: Above mentioned is wrong. There's no know way to fix OP's issue, WLM creates separate folders for every account, POP or IMAP.

Welcome

The best way is to close the tree in the left pane (do not have all the accounts showing) At the top you see unread, if only that shows, it will be just like having one account.

I have no POP accounts in my WLM. I'm going home in couple of hours, setup a couple of POP accounts and test it. I'll be back with the results.

Close tree

Richard,

When I close the "Quick View" tree I still have the 6 e-mail accounts listed below. Is there some way I can get these in the "Quick View" and have a single delete folder?

PJ, it looks like I owe you an apology. I assumed too much, thinking that WLM works like old Outlook Express and Windows Mail did.

I created some dummy emails to a domain of mine, setup these accounts in WLM as POP accounts and found absolutely no way to create global folders. Instead, every account creates own folders.

I'm really sorry I mislead you :o; I just couldn't think that Microsoft takes a step back and removes something useful. If it was possible, I would neg rep me (a hint, mods!).

None that I know of, short, of a registry hack.

So far that's my experience. I can't believe OE6 was cleaner than W7 in terms of mail folders:o

I know, I like Outlook Express, too. There are other mail clients, out there. You may want to try those.

If you want multiple accounts to put everything in ONE inbox, you can probably make it work using a mail rule for "All Messages" "Move to specified folder".

Then anythign from any account should ge redirected to a mail folder of your choice.

I do not know where the sent items will go after thiss, if they follow the mail itself or go into the mail folder for the specified account.

Personally I like the seperate folders so I haven;t actually tried this...

Gmail is POP not IMAP

Thanks for pointing that out. I edited the post in question.

Once again I have to apologize; it seems it's better for me to stay out from WLM related issues. I use Outlook and exchange mail system, this thread showed to me I can not give advice in WLM issues thinking how it was in OE or Windows Mail. WLM is completely something else.

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I would give negative rep for me if it was possible. :o
