When ever i use the email link in the Pictures folder, The email opens in Live mail, but when I click send nothing happens, the window just disappears.

Just as a follow up, when sending pictures using the email link, there isn't anything in the live mail outbox waiting to be sent.

In WLM it doesn't go straight to the outbox. First the email opens, then you have to fill in the address box, then you click send. Is that what you did/saw?

Are we talking about WLM (client) or Hotmail (website)?

I'm using the WLM client. I do enter in one of my email addresses, and the application disappears.

A friend of mine also has a similar problem, where the email actually ends up in the outbox, but never gets sent.

I guess I should have said the Window disappears, when I press send.

Obviously that shouldn't happen. I'd do a repair install of Windows Live Essentials via Programs and Features.

In Programs and Features the entry shows up as "Windows Live Essentials". Click uninstall/change at the top and in the next screen choose "repair". It will repair all the components of Live Essentials that were installed, including Mail.

Thanks Roncerr - have now repaired the Live Essentials

Still have not found a way to send email directly from word doc but can get around it by opening email form and addressing it, giving subject, then after opening the word doc, select the text, copy the text, then paste it in the body of the email
