WLM crashes when sending mail - seemingly on a random basis:

Using avast! antivirus 5.1 with the latest updates
Using POP mail server

I have another computer running Win 7 HP and it has no problems sending.

Any suggestions?

Make sure the incoming and outgoing port have the right number and does your ip require secure ssl box to be checked.

I note that the Available Extented Virtual Memory is shown as : 0 MB
However, the only applications open are WLM and Firefox.

Perhaps you could try making sure that Avast isn't scanning email. Or try turning it off altogether. If it proves to be the cause of the crashes, use Microsoft Security Essentials instead.
