Live TV and Recorded TV locks Computer

Been having issues almost from day 1 with my HTPC locking up while playing live TV but now it seems to have migrated to recorded TV as well.

As a side note i can play all media files and types thru TMT5 including the recorded TV funny that WMC records the program then can't play it.

I have run thru a few things as i was seeing a codec problem in event viewer so i removed powerDVD to get rid of that codec. Then on the crashes event viewer changed over to a SQL Server crash so i disabled that. So now after i have a crash all event viewer says is that the shutdown was unexpected. The computer does not create a dump file either as it just locks up black screen a little buzz of noise then no response until a hard reset by turning the computer off and on again.

I have done driver updates software updates even a bios update.

I tried the SFC/scannow didn't find anything

Next thing on my list of things to try is clearing the guide for WMC.

If any body has any ideas that doesn't involve a clean windows 7 install i am listening.

One drive probably 400+Gig free i don't keep recorded programs nor have i started to copy over my DVD collection until i am happy that i will not have to reformat this POS and then i will probably keep those on a seperate drive.
