I have a Dell 1535 Studio vista laptop...........I also have TWC and this particular laptop is wireless yet the local area connection network cable says unplugged...broadcom netlink.......I know it is wanting a ethernet cable plugged in but....it is a wireless laptop so why would I plug a cable in? ...I also have a Dell E310 desktop that is hard wired into TWC with a Arris tg1672g modem................that belongs to TWC. I have no problems with the desltop hardwired but the laptop wireless downstairs continues to lose wi fi and or connections.......it shows 100 speed and has at lest 3 to 4 bars but......it still goes in an out. I called to have TWC come and check it out for me but they will not do it. Said they do not work on computers but I thought maybe their installation went wrong? But no advice. This has been going on for a long time and I get so fed up paying the bills but getting 1/2 cable internet in return. Does anyone on the forum have the same problems? Thanks for your help.
Hi Mr. Pbcopter......
Thank you so much for your reply to my question.....All of the years I have owned these computers and have had problems with them..no one has given me this action to try...........and it sure did work. Now I don;t have to see that big red X all the time and try everything to figure out how to plug a cable into a wireless laptop that doesn't need a cable plugged into............even Dell told me to live with it! So, I thank you and am sure glad I found this site.
