My windows 7 somehow started showing a horizontal bar of my desktop two days ago. It doesn't matter what I'm using, wmp, webbrowser, file folder, hover mouse over icons, .. That horizontal bar will show nothing but the desktop. However when I use full screen mode, it goes away. So if I press F11 in my webbrowser or play a game on full screen, then the screen gets filled up as should be.
Here's an image to illustrate my problem:
As you can see, above the taskbar, the status bar isn't showing. And since it happens everywhere, it's not the browser's fault. What you see instead, is the background of my desktop.
Have you tried adjusting the height of the taskbar and then bringing it back down again?
Restarted the computer?

I don't know what to say.. I had restarted my pc before but that didn't solve the issue. But I had just started up my computer again and it was fixed. I even forgot I had this problem till I saw a mail about your reply. So weird.
Glad its resolved Please mark this thread as solved.
