is there a way to fix the size of the preview pane for all folders?

i'm constantly having to drag the splitter bar over to the right so i can see all the file info details.

i know you can turn it off but id rather keep it but smaller without having to constantly set the size manually.

Hi dblake2 and finalbegining,

You're both right, there should be a setting for this. In case you had previously been going to File > Layout to turn off the preview pane however, let me remind you that there's a quick toggle button just above the preview pane itself in every window, between the blue question mark and 'Change your view' buttons. That is the fastest way to see what's behind the preview pane in Details view.

Cheers,

so there isn't any registry hack to make this work? i just want to make the default width not take up 80% of the window space.
