Hello everybody,

I was recently poking about in the Group Policy Editor seeing if there were any changes between Vista and 7, but after I had exited and locked my computer I noticed my lock screen now shows as this:

(I had to use my phone as it seems you cannot use print screen at this login)

Normally it would have the persons picture and name, and all you would have to do is enter the password, but it seems it has made it so you have to enter the Username and Password which is quite an annoyance. I went through all of the settings to make sure that I had not accidentally changed any, from what I saw I had not changed any settings or if there were in fact any settings that causes this behaviour.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Hello Plxply, welcome to Seven Forums!

Do you have more than one user on your setup? I never lock my system but I just did and I did get my user name.

Make sure the policy setting I highlighted in the attached screenshot is disabled if you want the default behaviour back.

Thanks for your help Bare Foot Kid and H2SO4,

In response to Bare Foot Kid's question, I only have one account set up on my computer as I am the only one using it.

For H2SO4, I have checked and it appears to be disabled just like your screen shot.

Thanks again for your insanely fast replies.

Sorry for that it seems I completely overlooked the actual solution to my problem. The registry edit seems to of completely fixed my problem, although strangely it was set to 2 rather than 1, I am sure someone more knowledgeable could explain that to me.

But none the less, thank you for your help in fixing my login screen problem.
