Lock Workstation taking too long

Hi. I just switched to Windows 7 Ultimate and I'm noticing that the command "Windows+L" to lock my screen takes 5 seconds to lock and 21 seconds to unlock, that a lot! While it's locking/unlocking the screen goes black. This action used to be immediate in XP and Vista.

Is this an OS problem or a settings problem of mine? How can I fix it?

Any help is deeply appreciated.

I would suspect a settings problem. In my ancient laptop it takes 1.5 secs to lock and 5 to unlock. You could create another user and check the time there. If it is shorter you could transfer your things to it.
