Locked out

Yesterday night the 3 key was sticking on my keyboard. Like any other time something like that happened, I shut the computer down and fixed the sticking. No problem.

The problem came when I turned the computer back on. For some reason that I don't know, my computer decided to revert back to my first password on this computer, a password I had for a couple weeks and that I changed a good five months ago. I don't remember the password at all and now I'm locked out of my computer. I only have the one account, too, which I now know is stupid. The real kicker is that I'm currently 18 hours away from home, living as a missionary, which means I'm 18 hours away from the notebook my password might be written down in.

How do I get back in my computer? And when i do can I get what was supposed to be my current password back without knowing the old one? And if anyone knows WHY my computer decided to revert my password, I'd like to know.

Thanks.

I dealt with something like this today.

A girl I work with brought her PC in because she couldn't log on. Her password wasn't being accepted.

Just by a slim chance you two experienced a similar issue, click on the "switch user" tab on the log in screen. Select your account again, and your password should take.
