locking a folder's layout setting

Recently I've found a few of my regular folders defaulting to detail view after so long. I think certain games that change resolution might be affecting this as it only happened recently and has become frequent. This doesn't affect all folders, only certain key ones. I don't want them resetting to detail view. I have tried setting optimuzed view for folders but this always resets.

How can I just lock the view for folders? I want some to stay as large icons, other as list and this constant resetting is getting annoying.
