Hi and welcome to sevenforums

Sounds like a driver to me. could you go into device manager (type device manager in search) and look at the network controller to see if it is there and functioning correctly

Let us know what the results are

Thats just it when i switch on the pc it takes around 5 min to get onto the net and on the network symbol there is a red cross through it. So i right click troubleshoot problems and it says there may be a problem with your lan adapter yet when i go into device manager it says "device is working properly"........ This has only started happening the last few days i have just downloaded the latest drivers from the supplied cd rom i have.:)

O2 Home Broadband - Wireless Broadband

This is the wireless box i have (first in the pic) it is connected via a Ethernet cable to my pc.

And this is my network adapters

Hope this helps...

Can you provide us with a screenshot of the result of IPCONFIG /ALL
in the command prompt?

Ideal would be a shot when it has problems, and one after you fix it.

Can you tell us if you are using auto ip or fixed ip?

One thing I notice is the last range number of your gateway and dns server is set at .254

That means there is only one IP address possible.

If you have more machines connected, then there is your problem.

Let me know if you have more machines connected. (even if they are off)

If you are ok with it, we could use teamviewer so I could look with you at the settings on the router.

It's much easier than exchanging screenshots.

Do you have a MSN account?
If so, you can PM me so we can use MSN chat to set up teamviewer for you.

Let me know.

I just had a epiphany. :geek:

Do you have some network services set to manual instead of automatic?

This might explain why it won't connect at boot, but will connect after you force it.

If you don't know what to look for, it might be best to use teamviewer so I can watch with you.

Don't know what happened here, but I've been watching this thread for over two hours without any response.

So, I will assume it's fixed.

also one pic that show stills- I think he is using a 2Wire modem.
and might not have it set correctly.

The OP has been offline for over 2 hours. Either he fixed it or messed it up more
