Recently two of my PC's have had unexplainable errors that appear and disappear with no explanation, since I hate being left in the dark I enabled the "create boot log" feature in windows, but I want to take it one step further, I want to be able to keep a log file of absolutely everything that is done on the PC every day. Every web page visited, every file changed or renamed, any change to the registry, if it happens I want to know about it. I'm currently looking at a piece of software called spybuddy, but norton classifies it as spyware due to the nature of its purpose(monitoring and logging PC activity). Does anybody know of a trustworthy piece of software that I can use for this purpose or if spybuddy is safe?you can check it out here or you can google it to see what it is http://www.exploreanywhere.com/products/spybuddy
I was waiting to see if anyone answered your post that had personal experience with the software that you mentioned. I've not used it, but I doubt that having the info that it provides is going to help you chase down the issue. Programs like these typically provide screenshots based on a time interval that you select. It is easy to miss screens.
"I want to be able to keep a log file of absolutely everything that is done on the PC every day."
Install process monitor and you might see 1000s of things happening each second. Too much for one person to research "absolutely everything" that goes on.
Maybe you should make a post in this sub-forum... System Security - Windows 7 Forums
