Login Pw works... then it doesn't. What gives?

My password always works when I boot up the computer. However when I let it sleep and try to log back in, sometimes it will work and at other times I get the red x or wrong password message. What gives?

Could be if CAPS LOCK is on, or if switched to a different keyboard layout or language.

cyber thanks for your reply but the capslock is not on and nothing else has changed. It is very I have never made any changes to the pw. I find it strange that after I do a hard reset, the pw works fine.

If this is not some software that changes your keyboard layout, it's a mystery then.
