Hello,
I am just a newbie with a newbie question about VM, so please have patience with me. :)
Its a very basic question about login to vBulletin forums from a VM versus login from a real machine.

Question:
Will the vBulletin detector software find that I am logged from same physical machine when I am trying to login from a VM? Will vBulletin be able to make a connection between the two logins? The IP address is dynamic and changes every time I create a new Internet connection.

Obviously my question shows ignorance, but I could not search it properly.

Thanks in advance :)

vbulletin has no multiple ip or cookie detection mechanisms, so by default it would not make a connection between the two, if however that admin has had something specially coded or used one of the off the shelf mods then there is every possibility that it would flag up.

Thanks z3r010 but I need to understand more.
If I use two different OS to login (I.E. - a win7 and a virtual win7) with two different IPs, then how can any system detect that its from the same physical machine? What gives it away?
Arent two different Operating systems behave as two entities? What can possibly connect between the two?

Thanks :)

I forgot to mention that I am talking about two different accounts on vBulletin. If one account is on a real machine and the other is on virtual machine(with different IPs), can they be identified as coming from the same physical machine?
Thanks

As I said vbulletin has no detection systems so unless something has been added to it then it cant.

If both your physical machine and the vm are both using the same internet connection they both are viewed from the outside world as having the same external ip. You can check this out by visiting IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup or a similar site from both the vm and your physical pc. The ip address shown should be the same for both.
