Login Window Problem

Here's a good one!

On the login window '**********' appears many times in the box - even before i have touched the keyboard. I have to try several times to highlight & delete thede before i can enter my password. This problem started today.

Hello Henders, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might check to see if you may have any keys (ex: * (shift+8)) that may be sticky and are getting stuck pressed down on the keyboard sometimes and entering them.

Do you have another keyboard and mouse to use to test with to see if it may be a issue with your current ones?

Hi Shawn, thanks for the quick response.
Once i get the laptop running & use the internet i can type with now problems at all.
It just happens on the login - very strange,

Mike,

Does your laptop have any sort of fingerprint reader or any other device connected to it at login? If so, you might see if disconnecting or disabling them may help as a test.

no - i'm afraid not. It is an HP Pavillion G6 with no devices.
