Just wanted to mention I bought one of these because I often work in low light conditions - and the illumination is really very decent.

However, the keys are abysmal, they're not uniform in terms of the pressure needed to depress them, some make tinny rattle-like noises, some are near silent, and the space bar feels and sounds like it's 'cheap as chips' quality.

These KB's aren't cheap either

Should anyone have one on their wishlist - think twice, it's one of the worst keyboards for typing on that I've ever come across.

Yeah, at one point I thought about getting one of these.

I'm really interested in getting a good mechanical switch keyboard and I want a wired keyboard. I was out looking at local stores and the Logitech was the only nicer keyboard that wasn't ergo that was wired that they seemed to carry. However, I didn't feel that I liked the key action at all after using it in the store for a few minutes. And I do realize that it's not a mechanical switch keyboard...but like I said...I couldn't find a local store that had any mechanical switch keyboards...so it was this or nothing. Sounds like going with "nothing" was the right choice.

I dumped the Logitech keyboard and picked up the MS Sidewinder X6 keyboard and the Sidewinder X5 mouse. The illumination is great with this keyboard and the keys are terrific.

Hmm, I use the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard but, eventhough position of some keys is not logical I must say that I really like the keyboard. The spacebar does indeed make more noise than other keys. but that didn't bother me until someone mentioned it :)

I dumped the Logitech keyboard and picked up the MS Sidewinder X6 keyboard and the Sidewinder X5 mouse. The illumination is great with this keyboard and the keys are terrific.

I wasn't after a gaming board with custom keys and macros, just an exceptional KB for typing, with minimal or no multimedia functions, but with subtle illumination for all those twilight forays into the internet, and late night work reports... ;)

Deck make a nice one, but it's £200 (circa $290!!!) and there's no way I'm wearing that sort of price tag LOL... so I may have to see if I can't rig up a strip of LED's in a shroud under the bottom edge of my lower screen to throw a light onto matters...
