I found a page recently about how to get LogMeIn to work under Windows 7. With LogMeIn you could remotely access your PC, and now it works with Windows 7 (or more so that it did but it kept failing with the install and now someone posted a workaround)

by the way, you'll need to create an account at https://secure.logmein.com/http://www.logmein.com and download the software there.

I didn't know there was a problem...I'm using 7 and I control other machines via logmein on a regular basis?!
maybe the problem is the other way around?

Everytime I ran the installer it said that it had to unexpectedly close.

Also, apparently when you log in remotely, for username you have to put ComputerName\Username

A good program similar to Logmain is pc file transfer. As far as I know, the basic version of Logmein is free and it is likely to be adequate for many FTers who need to read a file on their home PCs. The $69.95 Logmein works good for users who need to transfer files easily and to print remotely. That's why I "paid once" for PC File Transfer ($29.95) and I am glad with it.
