Looking for a b/w only inkjet printer, do they exist anymore?

Hi all, I am looking for a kinda cheap printer that only prints in black and white, (or can print b/w without ALSO needing and using color ink, maybe inkjet printers say they print black and white but they use up the color ink too, probally a scam tactic to force you to buy more) I have no use really for color printing for what I plan to use it for. I have a printer currently but it won't print even just in black and white without full set of color ink cartrages. It also uses said color ink when it prints black and white (scam tactic by them so your forced to buy color ink too?) I am not super picky on print quality or speed, since most of what I will be printing will be text anyway.

Any suggestions? From a place based in canada prefered if possible. We have a Futureshop, staples, the source nearby where I live.

Any particular reason you insist on inkjet?

I don't know about Canada, but in the US you can buy a black and white laser for under $100; I paid under $60 for mine on sale a few years back.

I don't print much and am still using the original toner--it has an exceptionally long shelf life, unlike inkjet cartridges.

I just figured the ink/whatever would be cheaper so thats why I was aiming for inkjet, aren't laser printer toners expensive as hell?

The toners typically last longer than inkjet cartridges and aren't prone to clogging and aging like inkjet cartridges.

I've never had to buy new toner, but Brother replacement toner for my Brother laser printer is about $50. Less if I bought another brand that is still compatible with Brother.

You just won't find many people telling you to go with inkjets in this day and age.

You can easily research "cost per page" for lasers versus inkjets, which would take into account the cost of toner.

I used to have an HP inkjet and I was spending probably $30 a year on cartridges even though I didn't print much. Sometimes the cartridges were empty, sometimes defective.

If black and white laser printers were still $300 or more, then maybe I'd still be on inkjets, but that day is long past.

Oh Ya Definitely get a Laser jet, they last way longer, those little ink cartridges are way to expensive to keep replacing. A toner cartridge could last a year or more depending on it`s usage. I have an HP Laser jet and a Brother Laser jet. Both work beautifully.

I got my first Laserjet printer back in early '95 [a Lexmark Optra R] wouldn't be without one. I now have an HP Laserjet M1212nf black-only and an HP Officejet Pro 8600, both are connected via Ethernet cable to my Router and all computers [Wired or Wi-Fi] I install the software on as Networked can access either one.
