looking for a flash drive that reads jpg images fast?

I have a ton of pics on my external hard drive that I want to put on a large flash drive. I bought one of them awhile back, but I eventually returned it because it just didn't read image files very quickly.. it would take about 3 seconds to load a set of about 15 or so as I scrolled down.

My ports only read at USB 2.0 speeds, but I know there are 3.0 flash drives that can read faster even at 2.0 speeds. Only problem is that I can't identify this speed information on many packages, or websites. I mostly get my information from online reviews, but because each reviewer has a different system (some with Macs), I can't get a very good take on them.

As far as I know, a year or so back Microsoft released a hotfix that removed the restricted speeds on the USB 2.0 ports on windows 7 because the speeds of the ports were capped far under what they were capable of handling. Ever since that hotfix my 8GB USB with a good 7,000+ images on it loads fairly quickly.
Have you heard of this hotfix when you were searching the web as you mentioned?

If you are buying from a reputable place, those speeds should be posted in the item descriptions. Since you are in the U.S., Newegg should be your first stop.

I haven't, are you talking about Windows Updates? I install Windows Updates quite regularly, but as far as I can tell none of those updates have made any difference to normal USB speeds
