I am looking for the best free email client. Have tried gmail, hotmail, and a couple of others even Thunderbird and can't get it to work right.I am thinking about changing from MS Office Pro 7 as I don't like the new ribbon bar, I like the older style better. Anyway to one of the free offices but they don't have an email client.

I have searched for a decent free email client for a few years now, and can't find one that suits my needs. Even paid clients don't seem to match up to my requirements. Some come close, but there's always something that breaks the deal. I currently use PocoMail, but it's no longer in development and wasn't made for anything newer than XP, though it does work fine on Win7. Eventually I will need another client, but have no idea what could replace Poco.

As for the Office 7 ribbon, I didn't like it at first but once I was basically forced to use it, it started to make sense and become easy to use. I now find it comfortable and in many ways better. Have you given it a fair chance? :)

I use AOL since years and never had a problem. But don.t install their whole thing. Put aol.com into IE and get started from there - it's a lot neater.

I use Windows Live Mail 2011, as long as you are not going to create group contacts (there is a bug in sending group contacts in WLM 2012, you can try that one
WLM is inside Windows Live Essentials, before it installs it will ask you what you would like to install, just pick Windows Live mail

Try TrulyMail

You should try TrulyMail. It's free and feature rich. I've been using in on Win7 x64 and love it.
