Looking for a good FPS demo

Hello! I'm upgrading my video card soon and I'd like to have a good "First Person Shooter" to play to show off the new graphics and speed. I haven't been playing games for a while so I don't know what's available at the moment. Is anyone offering a good demo/first level that can be downloaded? I'd rather not install Steam if possible.

Steam is a good source for games you might check there; they also have a chat and a good forum.
