If you're only intersted in eMail and surfing - then you might consider a tablet. You can save a bundle and get the new technology.

A few years ago, manufactures brought out netbooks - these had limited power, but did simple things well.... and they are still around. Again, this option might save you a $100 dollars or more.

Decide wisely, if you find that you want more computing power later on, you'll have to shell out more money for a muscle machine.
