Looking for a new Laptop

All my previous 4 PC's were brand new. My last PC, an HP lasted 6.5 yrs. The one before that, a Dell, lasted 2 yrs. The two others, before that (my first two PC's) were all Dell. Each one lasted for 3 yrs. Oddly, all the Dell units died a few days after extended warranty expired.(is that conspiracy or what?). That's why I no longer buy warranty extension.

I was so totally in love with the HP Pavilion dv7-1170us that it took me almost a month in search of another brand new Pavilion dv-7 unit(leftover or previous year's model) before I gave up and decided to SETTLE for another HP(but an Envy model...for more than $1000.00). Miraculously, I came across this e-bay seller via mindless "what the heck" browsing the night before I was determined to settle. Long story short, I am now an ecstatically happy owner of a two yr. old used refurbished by seller Pavilion dv7-2173cl with ALL the features I searched for ...and more, all for a fraction of a brand new Envy.

I am now enjoying a flawlessly operating beautiful dream PC seemingly well preserved just for me ...with no guarantee. But any length of time it lasts, is time well spent.

While watchig all this in so happy i just have an laptop for vacation purposes and have custombuilt main computer. Way easier

I've got a custom built desk top, one bad a** machine but it's not exactly portable. I'm a little hesitant to buy something used from somebody I don't know. And my dad is paying for half of it and when I asked him about it he said no to anything
off ebay. He's had some trouble with people not being legit sellers. I might be able to convince him into something refurbed from a store though.

well. Why arent you putting that machine in you spec list?

I haven't put it in the specs because I'm still working on it. The mother board sometimes thinks it's over heating when it really isn't. The company is sending me a new one. None the less, when it's actually working it's freakin awesome.

Haha yeah.. Having some problems with my own homebuilding -.-
Stupid NETONNET wich is the store i bought the parts from is " repairing " my psu wich apperantly takes over a month -.-

Why would they bother repairing it? Have you ever taken one apart? It's mostly capacitors and color coated copper wire.

repairing is just to change out the defect parts. So like you said that your ASUS laptop has a broken harddrive. Just change it out. Its not very expensive at all

I'd of though that they'd just send you a new one and send the one you've got to be re-manufactured. The only difference is ASUS suck and wouldn't even consider doing anything and they drop the recovery disk for it.
