Solved Looking for a small notebook mouse

My wife needs to replace her Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse 3000, model 1049.
This is a smaller than normal, wired USB mouse. It measures approx 3.5" x 2" x 1.5" tall.

I've been looking but can not find a small mouse like this. Wireless, yes.
As with all discontinued stuff you can find these at outrageous prices. Not interested.
Looking for a basic <$20 mouse. 2-button and a scroll wheel. Blue laser would be great, but not a hard requirement.
I can't believe this can be this hard!

Has anyone seen anything that fits the bill?

I've been using Microsoft's Arc Touch Mouse with my Asus Ultrabook. It's small, lightweight and folds flat for storage.

You should be able to get it from Amazon for a much cheaper price then the 60 bucks Microsoft is asking. I think I got mine for 39. Also picked up a backup a few months back for 29 from Best Buy... they had it mismarked and I took advantage of their mistake

Anyway check it out.

Yes Maxie - that is a wireless mouse. She may just have to go wireless if she wants a mini mouse today.
(I wonder if they make a Minnie Mouse mini mouse?)

Be aware that the arch is also wireless. Anyway one of the biggest things I like about the mouse is that you can flatten it out for storage. Word of warning though, if you get it, do not lose the usb dongle or you're need to replace the mouse. I just leave mine plugged into the laptop.

Be aware that the arch is also wireless. Anyway one of the biggest things I like about the mouse is that you can flatten it out for storage. Word of warning though, if you get it, do not lose the usb dongle or you're need to replace the mouse. I just leave mine plugged into the laptop.

I have to get her past the wireless mouse dongle 'incident'.
They used to be larger then they are today. Rushing to the airport and jamming the laptop in a travel bag with the dongle connected is not a recommended procedure. That was the end of 2 USB ports on that laptop.

Well this one is a little smaller and has been in my notebook since I bought it a year and a half ago. Never had an issue with it being jammed, struck, or hit. On the other hand I make sure I pack the notebook so that there's no chance of it getting jammed.

BTW, if you don't want to leave it in the notebook, you can always attach it to the underside of the mouse which is magnetic and designed to hold the dongle; thus my warning about losing it.

Anyway good luck whichever way you go. Just thought I'd drop my suggestion.

If the laptop has BT, I can recommend this one. The wife loves it and it has the advantage that it does not take up a scarce USB port.
