Looking for a stand-alone RSS reader.

I have been using gdRSS but it only works in Google desktop. For a number of reasons I don't want to run Google Desktop.

There seem to be plenty of browser based readers but I want a standalone app that will run in its own window on the desktop. I want to specify which feeds I want to follow.

Any recommendations?
