So I'm about to buy 2 new monitors but want to make sure I buy something and not decide later I should have looked for something in it. Anyone have any advice on what I should buy? Looking to spend up to $200 at most per monitor. Nothing really it absolutely needs to have except for 1920x1080 resolution.

First you need verify your video card/adapter can handle that resolution. Second is the type of connection, some video adapters don't have the power to run two monitors connecting via a Y-cable to the only port. If it were mine I'd use an Add-in card with two ports, either DVI or VGA, keep things common. A number of cards come with one VGA and one DVI port.

I'm running dual monitors now, so I know it can. One of my monitors died so I'm looking to replace it. Both were running at 1920x1080. I'm currently using one with DVI and another with VGA.

I've been running a Samsung SyncMaster S24B300 for a couple of years now and it's been great, even for gaming. If you can pick up two of those you'd have a wedge of change left too.

That one is not longer available, but I found the Samsung S24D300HL which looks like maybe a newer model of the same thing. It looks nice. I'll check it out. Thanks!

Yeah mine's a couple of years old now, but Samsung do make good monitors. You should be good with a pair of those.
