Well, I have been doing quite a bit of googleing and can't seem to find that much information on how to build a good home entertainment PC. I have built a few PC's in the past set up a couple home networks, etc. But I wanna incorporate a PC into my entire home entertainment center.

Basically I wanna do the following:
- Use it as a home server (to store files and backup files to)
- Play movie and music from it (stream to other PC's in the home and play it directly on my tv and sound system)

Other Information
- Also looking for add some DVR functionality to the whole system
- Also any ideas on what OS will suit my needs better windows 7 or windows server?

One last thing! Anyone know what i should be looking for to hook up my sound system to a sound card??
If anyone has any links or guides or help that i can use to help me build something that can do what i want please let me know.

You should look at a NAS for networked media storage, then all you pc's can access. Otherwise, using a server, the machine will need to be on whenever another machine wants to access its library.
