I am looking to upgrade my graphics card. But I'm not sure by reading the descriptions what would be the best fit for my existing system.

Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz Motherboard - ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5E 4.00 GB with 3.25 GB available Graphics Card - Radeon X1950 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) High Definition Audio Device Hard drive WDC WD7501AALS-00J7B0 ATA Device

Should I go Radeon like what I have? Can I go GeForce? I need to ensure that it can connect to my monitor as well as my large flatscreen. And play dvd's/blu rays on it as well. (I have a blu ray drive ready to go)

Opinions?

If anyone wants to point to a specific one, I'm buying from HERE, unless ncix.ca has a cheaper price.

Thanks for any info in teaching me this stuff....

Hi Canuck67,

As per the link provided by you for your desired card. Something which needs attention

System Requirements
PC with:
Windows 8, 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP
PCI Express x16 3.0 enabled Motherboard
(PCI-E 2.0 Slot at reduced performance)

AND

From the motherboard specs.

Expansion Slots
2 x PCIe x16 (both @ x16 mode) supports CrossFire Technology

So, it might bottleneck the card. Also, you never mentioned the PSU (Power supply) you currently have or you are planning to buy.

You can use this card.

Thanks for the suggestion Archer.

I understand why my original choice won't work, still have no idea how to tell about others though. So going by your suggestion of sticking with Radeon, I found two that are close to your recommendation.
Card One specifically says it will play blu ray, while card two does not...... no idea if it will or not...

Card Two

I would go with 6870 (I have the same card ;) ).

Here is the comparison chart for the cards you chose.
