Hail all:

I was used to use my trusted Acronis Backup CD.
Despite that it got upgraded to latest version ... it refuses to work (it keeps giving a Kernel Error, been trying to solve it with the Acronis people, but it is now 4 weeks ... and we have not found the issue. I THINK it is the video card that interferes.).

I need, however, to make a backup, like ... well ... 4 weeks ago. :(

Is there a kind soul that could point me to a good, reliable back up system on a boot ISO, please?
Right now, I care not for price, I need my backup done.

Thank you.
Ben

Look into Clonezilla. It's what I use and recommend.

There are plenty of other tutorial videos. Once you learn it you won't go back. And Clonezilla can clone an encrypted hard drive.

Clonezilla - About

Ignore the Linux crap. It'll clone Windows or any type of operating system for that matter.

Thank you, good sir.

I got me the ISO, is it ready to boot, sir?
Or does it only contain the backup files?

Warning:
I had to get two more files that were missing on the ISO.
Thankfully, I had no issue finding them, and with PowerISO it was easy to bring them into the ISO. :)

"Burning" the ISO now onto USB drive.
Keep you posted.

Thank you again!!!

Sir, it works flawlessly.
Two thing though:
1) It is not that a logical system, compared to Acronis, where you select the source and the destination (in a File-Explorer type environment), and then start the backup after selecting the method you prefer (I personally always use non-compressed).
2) It is quite a strange thing to work with:
It swaps from graphical to text-based back and forth.
You select Repository first?, (quite bizar), and only then the source and compression method (which does not have the uncompressed form).
It also requires one to read carefully, or mistakes can be made.

Otherwise, as the backup process is still going on (it would take 3 minutes, which was 10 minutes ago, LMAO) it WORKS!!!

I am really grateful, sir, for the backup system you advised on.
Thank you!!!

Good to hear.

It's more of an advanced method of cloning and backup, but it works pretty much flawlessly.
