looking for PC dictaphone program simple/neat/freeware

looking for a program that will record short sound bites using my PC microphone, i ideally would like freeware but if something super amazing is out there i am willing to pay, i want a program that is easy to open, quickly record without lots of setting up and easy to save the files, with an interface that's not complicated and allows me to quickly access my recordings (eg.audacity is way to much for this i need it for work and want something simpler).
