Hi all seams Sony have no interest in helping their customers.
I contacted their support and was told that they only support originally installed O/S.
which I feel cheated because the laptop is only 7 months old.
I have recently installed win7 Pro 64 bit on a Sony FW11S laptop but cannot find driver for SFEP.
Any help appreciated

John

You're not alone...I think Sony burned their bridge with me over this whole ordeal. It's only the FN keys and eject button that I'm missing but it's annoying none the less.

I had already read the post and tried with no luck will keep looking.
One things for certain I'll think twice before buying Sony again as other manufacturers seem to be helping their customers

Think I got the problem sorted
Downloaded the win 7 drivers form Sony support for FW51zfh which comes pre installed with win 7
The only other thing I needed was a driver for a Base System Device
Manufacture Unknown so I followed the instructions from another post

  • Open Device manager
    2. Right click on the device and choose properties
    3. Click on the details tab
    4. In the Property drop down, select Manufacturer (although this can be generic, sometimes this answers your question immediately)
    5. If you need more info, in the property drop down select 'Hardware ID's' (you'll see something like PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023etcetc)
    6. Go to this website PCI Vendor and Device Lists
    7. The Device number is the one after DEV_ (in my example 0023), put this in the field on the web page and hopefully it's in their database.

Turns out it was Ricoh Memory Stick Host Controller
Got a Win 7 x64 bit driver here Download drivers and upgrade your Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP with the latest updates

Thanks for the help
John

Glad you got it sorted out. Now if you would have posted it was a base system device then I'd have know it was either a Ricoh or Texas insturments card reader. At any rate way to go. Fabe
