Looking for specific software solution - Interior decoration

I realize this is an odd request but...I have a large collection of figures and collectibles (yes, I'm a geek). I have them displayed on my wall as best I can, but the number has gotten to a point where they don't look as aesthetically pleasing anymore.

I'm wondering if there's anykind of software out there that allows one to enter parameters like wall size, size of objects to be placed on wall and it would organize them into an efficient or pleasing way.

I know there's plenty of CAD products on the market, but that's not quite what I'm looking for.

For example, if you've ever used the "Collage" feature of Picasa, you know that you can select a large amount of different sized pictures, and it will automatically arrange them into a nicely formatted picture.

I hope I was clear enough, but I also understand this is a pretty small niche that may not even be filled.

I'm not familiar with any specific software that will do what you want. But as an alternative you might look for different wall shelf designs, bookcase designs, and something called "smart" shelves that are kinda modular and configurable for different sized spaces and items. If you see something you like you might be able to adapt it to your specific needs. I know this isn't what you asked for, just throwing out some other ideas.

No, definitely thanks for the ideas. I'm trying to brainstorm anything that isn't specifically built for that, but might "do it anyway". For example, there's an app I have on my Incredible that is for creating a DVD database by scanning their barcodes. It has pictures and links to reviews etc. I've found that this works on seemingly any product, and I've used it to catalog all my figures in the same way.

So thanks for the ideas, I'll probably be doing a lot of link clicking...

try AutoCAD or Google SketchUp i dont know if this helps but just my idea
