Lose screen saver when changing desktop

Whenever I change my desktop folder (in Personalize), my screensaver gets knocked out and set to "none".
Also, I have set the screen pictures to change every 3 minutes. That is always being reset to 30 minutes.
Any ideas how to cure that?

Yeah, but that will knock out my sidebar. I wonder whether that is the cause. I installed the Vista sidebar.
