Lost Administrative Tools in Win7

Hi Everyone,

I am still using Win7 64bit Ultimate SP1, and today discovered the "Administrative Tools" icon in Control Panel was "greyed out".

It was also totally unresponsive when clicked - producing only an empty dialogue box (see below) together with a listing of all other drives.

I have tried starting from the <Start> box, but just get the same result.

Can anyone point me to a solution for restoring it please?

Thank you.

First do a complete disk check then from a admin cmd prompt type
sfc /scannow
Are the admin files still in the folders?

Hi Samuria,

Unfortunately, the only thing I find in the folder is shown below, together with a shot of the .ini content.

Might the files be elsewhere on the system and, more impirtantly, how could they have become wiped out in this way?

Ian

Not sure how you lost them. you can copy shortcuts into "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools"
