2 days ago, lost all connectivity between Windows 7 and the internet and 32-bit level.

I can still browse using IE 64 bit, but the 32 bit browser, Windows Live Messenger, Office 2007, Warhammer Online, Steam and a whole raft of other applications (inlcuding my Kaspersky anti-virus) cannot see the internet.

So far, chain of events to try and fix:

1. Different network adapter running 64 bit drivers (D-Link DGE560T)
2. Reset Internet options from control panel (both browsers)
3. Tried USB based Wifi connection
4. 3 x System restores to over a week ago (before problem).

Worth adding it's not a router issue, I have tried two different routers and no change, also my other machine, a HP Voodoo Envy 133 which is running the same build of Windows 7 is not experiencing any problems whatsoever.

Does anybody have any ideas? Before I resort to a painful rebuild!

In IE 32 bit, go to tools | internet options | connections | lan settings

and remove any checked boxes that are there. Close and reopen the IE try.

Check that your dns is correct by typing

ipconfig /all

from command prompt. There is malware that changes dns settings that can cause this.

Thanks for the reply.

Tried the IE32 reset you've suggested, no difference I'm affraid, same issue persists.

I've looked at the DNS server entries and they're identical to the ones on the Windows 7 machine (same build) I have that is not experiencing the problem.

I have used Kaspersky and scanned the system again, but found nothing.. that being said, Kaspersky is one of the applications that can't see the internet, and therefore can't update.
