I seem to have lost the ability to have a default (say winamp player to play MP3).. I have gone thro all the link instructions here in the forum. makes no difference when I reset the defaut I click use etc on and off and then on again to make sure its on.. I save changes to program setting etc ..but the next time even a few seconds I ask it to open I get the proverbial select from web..anyone please..its not just winamp its other too..for other extensions. Incidentally when I go to set default program I see very few and can not change them - grayed out checks..also when I go to associate I do not see MP3..
I have noticed that a file facility called mediainfo which I think is a dll is handling many of the extension..can anyone help explain this
Did you find this listing? Set the Audio Files player in the third group down.
Drop down curtain lists all players on the system.
Then click save bottom right corner.
Make sure "Use AutoPlay for all Media and Devices" is check marked in top left corner.
Start> Control Panel> Auto Play

Not sure what you've already done, but - try right-clicking on any music file and choose 'properties'. In the box that appears, click on 'Change' where it says 'Opens with' and choose what program you want. Then click 'Apply' and 'OK'
