My data hard drive is seen in disk management but does not show in windows explorer.
I am using windows seven 64 bits.
In disk management the drive shows: Layout: simple, type: basic, file system: NTFS, status: healthy(system-active-primary partition)
How can I retrieve my data? Please help.
Thanks

Is that a drive that came from another system (e.g. XP) or did it just now happen - and what were the circumstances?

I forgot to tell that the drive was there all the time, not from another computer.
I am not sure but if I remember correct, it quit showing since I run a windows update last week. And there are few more windows update since then.

Does the drive have a letter assigned to it in Disc Management?
If it does not right click on it and then left click on change drive letter and path and consign a letter to it and it will then show up in Explorer.

Wow, thanks a lot kodi. I assign a drive letter to it and it shows right away.
Thanks again.
But, could you explain to me why it just lost its drive letter? It was drive D, but now in disk management it does not have any drive letter, and when I add a drive letter there is no letter D for me to assign, even no drive in the system get that letter.

There are lots of reasons this happens, so don't worry about it just consign a letter to it if is shows up in Disk management but not in explorer.
You should be able to assign "D" to it if it not in use.
Reboot your computer and then try to assign "D" to it again.

You are not the first one to lose a drive letter. seems to happen at times but we never figured out why it happens.
