I have no color on my display at all, everything is black and white. I've tried changing the theme and window colors, but everything still black and white. Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Thanks a bunch,
Tracie

Hi Tracie,

Your screenshot looks OK to me, as there is colour in it. So it must be a setting either on your computer or the monitor. Have you checked to see whether the colour controls have been turned down? Another possibility is a defective video cable if you use a VGA connection.

I just swapped out the monitor with another that I have, and the same issue is happening, so it's not the monitor or cable.

Can you get updated drivers from Nvidia Website?

You should be able to get them from the HP website: (and remember to back up before you do it, and for extra insurance, set a System Restore point.)

To download drivers:
Go to www.hpshopping.com
Click on; Support + Drivers
In “Select a Task” fill in exact name of your system
Go to Software + Drivers Downloads
Select: Which Operating System is Used With Your Product
Click on: Your version + whether 64 or 32 bit
Scroll down list of Drivers
Click on a Driver
Select: Download only
and in dialog box, hit: Save (Save it to your Desktop)
Go to Desktop and open the icon to the driver.
For all EXCEPT NVidia, hit Run (or Install)
For NVidia, see below.

For NVidia downloads:
1. Download the new drivers, but do not install yet.
2. Uninstall the old display drivers via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
3. Restart.
4. Install the new drivers.
5. Restart.

Re: Lost my display color - one solution

My PC had this problem right after the last Windows Update on 11/6/2014. There was color in safe mode, and when in normal mode, the Windows welcome screen began to initialize in color. However, once Windows 7 Premium initialized, the color disappeared.

I spent 16 hours scanning files, looking up solutions, and looking for a restore point that worked, to no avail. Many online options, short of reformatting, were way above my knowledge! I tried one more thing that solved this problem simply and quickly. I don't know if this translates to other video cards, but I thought I would share anyway.

I have a 64 bit HP Touchscreen with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics card running the factory-installed Windows 7 Premium (2010). Here is what I did:

1) Right Click on the desktop
2) Select Catalyst (top of the drop down)
3) Click on OPTIONS
4) Select PREFERENCES
5) Select Restore Factory Defaults

The color returned immediately. At this point I created a restore point, since I used up the few that my PC still had.

I hope this helps someone.
