Solved lost my Windows Sidebar and I really need it back . . .

Nu to forums, so here goes. Windows 7: Up to a few hours ago, I have enjoyed the Windows Sidebar since the day I put my computer together since about 2007. Had a monitor that went pink and just got the new one installed and can now see correct colors again.

A few hours ago, I tried to add a weather gadget and it didn't work, but in trying to put it in the sidebar, it slid underneath. I exited the sidebar to get rid of it and now I can't get the sidebar back. Searching all over the internet, several sites said it's easy, you click on START, then Accessories, then go down to Windows Sidebar and click on it, BUT Windows Sidebar was not in the list! So went into the explorer and tried starting it manually with no success, then went all over the place trying to get it back. Going nuts because I am old and cantankerous and I want my sidebar back.

I am hoping someone can help me get it back . . . just a thought in passing, I do not use the Areo settings, so please help if you have an answer other that the policies setting cause I can put one together but the Settings drive me crazy.

Control Panel > Programs and Features >Turn Windows Features on and off

Tick Windows Gadget Platform.

Click OK
