just installed windows 7 on a laptop, and after rebooting I tried to login but I seem to have forgoten the password. is there a way to recover it? I asume I need a boot program on a CD or a USB Stick, any ideas?

PS: I tried many combinations, with and without CAPS lock etc, and still can't find the password I used... I might have mis-typed the desired password durring install

Hello Akramh,

You should be able to use METHOD THREE in the tutorial below to reset your password.

Reset User Account Password - Vista Forums

Hope this helps,
Shawn

It was a bit challenging for me and failed. I then googled for more options and found a youtube video and low and behold it was for this program. lol

The video suggests to clear password, rather than create a new one, which worked flawlessly on second try. First try, I tried changing password which the video claims is hit or miss, which failed me.

You may want to add this video link on how to use the program:

Thanks for the post.
