Movie Maker should automatically save the project you are working on with specific intervals. Check the options of the program to see if that's set up and where it saves those auto saves.

Thanks for looking. I am running Movie Maker 2011 version. I have since discovered various old versions of the show but not the whole of the one I lost. I have also gone back to the original pictures and started a whole new show. At least it has taken much less time to do because many pictures were print and slide scans and they are still there. Thanks again.
