LOTRO BSOD every time within 2-3 min of going 'in game'

played fine for about 4-5 hours on saturday then sunday rolls around and all of a sudden consant crashing...here's a number of the mini-dumps. tried cleaning nvidia drivers in safe mode, the reinstalling while disabling hd-audi driver. seemed to work for a little while then bsod back again tonight (Monday).

"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds.

If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating.

Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

will try - my case does have a 240mm fan pointed directly at both GPUs on side of case, (2) 120mm fans on bottom pointed up, and (1) 120mm fan in front, (1) 80 mm fan exhausting from rear . i watched temps yesterday with evga precision while running game in windowed mode and they topped out at 75c before the crash. This is actually pretty good relative to normal run temps so i don't know that its an overheating issue, but again, willing to try anything at this point. thanks for quick response.

just tried taking the side of my case off, also went into windowed mode at 1280 x 720 and did exact same thing. watched gpu temps - crashed at 70 & 75 respectively. Used to running in mid-high 80s under load on these cards so i dont think thats it.

Ok if not heat what about power? have you added any devices of late? what it the PSU and its rating? (sorry if you have specs listed I am not at a computer atm)

looks to be hardware issue. disabled sli and ran off one card. worked fine. used other card by itself, crash. ugh - good thing still under warranty. they aint cheap. no devices added - power supply is a beefy corsair ax1200 (1200 w)
