Solved Lots of display problems

Yesterday my PC was working fine. I am having Windows 7 Ultimate x32 bit. Today I logged in and here is what happened

1)
Only black screen instead of wallpaper.
2)
No icon being loaded for everything.
3)
This is a background which I applied again still no background.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) orSIW or System Info

Add the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
“system manufacturer” block, for example,
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

Specs are OK.

Did you very recently install software?

Download, install and run CCleaner (link in my signature).

WIN | type CMD | ENTER | type SFC /SCANNOW | ENTER

WIN=key with microsoft logo on top.

Run SFC
System File Checker – SFC

System File Checker checks system files and restores them if possible.

System File Checker places results in:
%windir%\logs\cbs

My preference is to empty the abovementioned folder BEFORE I run SFC.

How to empty the “results” folder
· Run CMD.EXE as administrator
[FONT=&quot]o [/FONT]WIN | type CMD.EXE | do NOT hit ENTER |
[FONT=&quot]o [/FONT]CTRL + Shift + ENTER key combo | YES button
· Type following commands, each followed with ENTER key
[FONT=&quot]o [/FONT]CD %windir%\logs\CBS
[FONT=&quot]o [/FONT]DEL *.*
[FONT=&quot]o [/FONT]EXIT

To run System File Checker:
WIN | type CMD.EXE | do NOT hit Enter| CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER key combo | YES button
WIN is the key with the Microsoft flag on top.

Enter SFC /SCANNOW
When System File Checker finishes---

If you do not see:
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Then:
Ø Type EXIT to return
Ø RESTART your computer
Ø Run sfc /scannow again

If you do not see:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Then:
Ø Type EXIT to return
Ø RESTART your computer
Ø Run sfc /scannow again

If you do not see:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Then:
Ø Type EXIT to return
Ø RESTART your computer
Ø Run sfc /scannow again
Notice that you have run sfc and restarted your computer up to three times.

Ø If all did not go well, you can use
the findstr command to view the results.

VIEW THE RESULTS
Put the System File Checker (SFC) results in a File on the Desktop
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log > %userprofile%\desktop\sfcdetails.txt
where /C: specifies the desired search string

This finds the primary results. More info can be gleaned, if necessary, by examining the entire cbs.log file.

So the first time I ran sfc /scannow it showed-

The system file repair changes will take effect after the next reboot.]

Now will reboot.

Good.
Be sure to run SFC again. I don't know why, but I do know that SFC will sometimes fix files the 2nd and 3rd go around. I've never found more than 3 to be needed.

I ran it again and still the same output. I am attaching the cbs.log if you find something then tell me othervise tommorow I will reinstall windows

Analysis of a complete cbs.log is beyond my knowledge, but following I can use:
VIEW THE RESULTS
Put the System File Checker (SFC) results in a File on the Desktop
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log > %userprofile%\desktop\sfcdetails.txt
where /C: specifies the desired search string


Upload the resulting sfcdetails .txt please.

I was driven mad because of this problem so I reinstalled windows and can not do anything more about this problem.
