My mom's computer some day (Especially on the hot days, 35C +) she boot up the computer but nothing shows on the display and the GPU makes a loud noise that wont stop. Her computer have Windows 7 and Windows 8 so when I hit enter on the boot screen to choose the OS after 1 minute I can hear the windows 7 login sound.

We have cleaned the GPU (we didnt remove it)

We have cleaned the cable that conects the GPU to the monitor

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,

MrRichGuy

Hi mate.

Do you perhaps have an onboard graphic card? If so, please remove the one which goes into PCIe slot and plug the cable to an integrated one.
Then try to start PC and see if you'll get screen immediately.

That one GPU in PCI slot (the one that you cleaned), does it contain an active cooler (fan) or a passive one?
Based on your post, I am assuming that it contains an active cooler, so in hot days it tries to cool down the GPU but unsuccessfully.

I think that your GPU is soon gonna die.
But maybe you could buy one xtra cooler which you can position to blow cold air directly to GPU.
maybe it will cool it more, so you won't experience no picture on display or loud fan rotation when its hot.

sandravlado,

its not an onboard graphic card and there is no cooler that directly blows air to it, I think we will have to buy one.

Thanks!

EDIT: Having a better look under the gpu there is a small fan that blows almost no air
