Hey all,

I have x64 7 and have IE9 installed, but this is starting to grind my gears some, I want the x32 version of IE9 disabled. I understand that it's there for web site compatibility issues, but I think I've never gone to a site that old. It's annoying when I open an email from Outlook and it launches a x32 IE9 window when I have the x64 IE9 pinned on the taskbar, good grief!

Also, I haven't found anything about this, the toolbars and extensions are disabled for security reasons for Pinned Sites in IE9. Equally annoying, especailly when you mistype something on Facebook, wow.:sarc:

Hopefully someone has something on this...

It looks pretty.
According to the MS support site there is no way to make IE9 64bit your default browser.

Me thinks there must be a dll file that can be tweaked.

Q: Why isn't 64bit IE the default browser? Why can't I set the 64bit version of IE as the default browser?

A: This was an explicit choice made by the IE team, which may change at some point in the future. The problem is that users might inadvertently get "stuck" using the 64bit version and not realize it. This might cause some problems.

looks like another hand holding baby policy. I would guess going to extreme measures would be to overwrite the 32bit exe with the 64bit one.
