Hello, recently my computer is starting to report that I have low memory even when I am just on the internet. So I decided to figure what the problem was, and it reported this back to me:
"Hard disk volumes can contain bad sectors, lost clusters, cross-linked files, and directory errors. These problems can cause the file system to report incorrect volume details and occupy excessive disk space.

Attemp repairs of disk volume errors
Restart computer and begin repairs to bad sectors, lost clusters, cross-linked files, and directory errors. Correcting such errors will allow Windows to accurately report volume information and will free up disk space."

I have performed a DISK CHECK (dskchk) but I'm still getting these problems. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello fouried and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's also possible to get low memory errors if Windows 7 is trying to access damaged or corrupt system files, if there are driver conflicts, or trying to running a specific program. Since you're getting these errors just by trying to surf the internet I'd check in Device Manager to see if there are any driver issues. Then I'd try running a System File Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two, SFC tutorial.) If any problems are noted run the scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan.

The above steps presume there's a software issue. But if you have a bad memory module or some other hardware issue, it might not help. In that case you may want to go through this troubleshooting tutorial that was prepared by one of our Forum experts. It offers some additonal things to check and steps to take.
