Hello, dear ones. I'm new here, but my problem is an old one.
After I switched to Windows 7 64Bit only 5 years ago and built a fat modern computer for it, which also runs mostly well, I decided to build a second computer with Windows XP 64, among other things because I work with SONAR 8.5 and 7 Edirol PCR keyboards and the Edirol drivers for Win7 in conjunction with M-Audio Delta AP2496 keep losing contact with each other. I also like a few other things better with XP, specially that you can get it really small and fast with nLite. I also have some synthesizers that run better on XP. XP32 is no longer used because of its memory limitations.
The system was well accepted by the ASUS P68 SE, the driver for the keyboards runs wonderfully, but the driver for the Delta AP2496, which I found, does not.
The driver must be installed via the Device Manager and consists of the following 4 files: Delta_x64.cat, MAudioDelta.sys, MAudioDelta_x64.inf and maudiodelta_x64.PNF. In the beginning, the sound cards were 'partially' correctly selected in the Device Manager, but not completely, and the console was not accessible. The latter - I have often read - has happened to many users with Win7. I myself only had this problem with version 10 of the M-Audio driver. Since then I have been using version 6 for WIN7. But it won't install on WinXP64, at least that's what it says and cancels the installation. When I had the above (the 4 files) mentioned on XP64 it was only visible in the device manager, but not in SONAR.
So my question is: Has anyone gotten the M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 to work on WinXP64? Or do I have to give up trying? In fact, I'm reluctant to switch because I have seven of these cards and seven of these wonderful keyboards that work wonderfully with SONAR with their editor. I would hate to give up the quacklity of the Delta AP.
I am happy about every answer that helps me move forward. I don't like to give up.
